Castor oil differs from other oils because of its very high viscosity and specific gravity. It is obtained from cold-pressing the seeds of the castor plant.
  
It creates amazing lather in handmade cold process soap and performs best in lip care products.

Benefits & Uses:
 
It has emollient and lubricating properties, as well as excellent capability to wet and disperse pigments.
 
Although its use can go up to 100%, it is not frequently used as a stand-alone ingredient, due to its thickness and characteristic aroma.
 
It is often called the ‘dirt magnet’ as it is great for removing makeup and is often used in cleansers. 
 
It is a very slow penetrating oil.
 
Formulation Examples:
 
Lip balms, lip gloss, hair care, anhydrous creams, balms, butter, scrubs, and emulsions.
